EO4SD – Agriculture and Rural Development aims at demonstrating the benefits of EO-based geo-information products and services to support programs related to the IFIs and stakeholders in Client States.

  1. Large-scale crop area and type estimate (ie. crop cover mapping and status assessment)
  2. Irrigation and irrigation systems management (ie. energy balance, water productivity and water stress)
  3. Agriculture productivity assessment (ie. yield estimation, ground water, precipitation monitoring)
  4. Rural infrastructure investments planning and monitoring (ie. transport networks mapping)
  5. Land Degradation Assessment (ie. land use, rainfall, soil moisture, precipitation, fAPAR, NDVI indicators)
  6. Ecosystem services in agriculture sector (ie. water quality assessment, nitrogen content, land surface properties)
  7. Environmental Impact Assessment (ie. landscape level classification and change mapping including fragmentation, and agriculture commodities production impact on deforestation)
